I've been trying to create watermarked (real watermarks, not MS Word) on paper. From what I gather you use a semi-quick drying oil to print it onto the page. I have been rather unsuccessful finding much online about the process however. Has anyone discovered / created a recipe for the oil or have any suggestions?
And for the random homemade idea, assuming I really didn't mind likely destroying an inkjet printer, would anyone with any experience know if it would work filling oil into an inkjet to create complex images?
Not that I'm not appreciative, but those links do nothing for me. The first google link is a 2nd grader's science experiment which has no bearing on creating a REAL watermark on paper.
The second is historical and unhelpful unless I'm really interested in stamps.
I've done some very nice work with business cards and making embossed cards using techniques from Make, but I wanted to know if anyone has actually designed and used their own watermark. ... as in visible marks when held to light on a linen paper. They are no longer made as per the 2nd grade science fair project link you have there.
