I have some old LED signs that I'd like to put to use in my new office. Both of them have serial interfaces that can communicate with an open source linux driver. Space wise it's a bit of a mess to keep a whole PC by them so I'd like to instead have a tiny form factor (wall wart) to pull new content from the web and display it on the sign.

Effectively I need a cheap linux wall wart that has network, serial and/or usb.

I know of the Marvell SheevaPlug which currently sells for $99 but I'm having trouble finding out anything else out there. Is there something that does the same but at a cheaper price?

Nifty,

Thanks Odin84gk. Looking these over it seems that beating the SheevaPlug in price is going to be a bit hard.

It is true. The SheevaPlug will be the cheapest, and the most power efficient, that you can probably buy right now.
