So you want a line of 12 LEDs that light up:
First none
Then One
Then two
Then three
...
Then 12
Then 11
Then 10
...
Then 1
Then 0

Is that right?

Do you want to have a variable-speed potentiometer or something?

Do you want to build it yourself and learn something, or do you just
really want to have the device for your project? (Nothing wrong with
just wanting the device, I just want to know which way you want to go.)

How much is "very expensive"? If you just want to buy one.

yeh thats right. a variabul speed would be helpfull and i would like to build it myself and learn as i dont have that mush soldering expireience but getting one for the project would be just as helpfull. and the one on the site sells for $94.00 on their site. which is.

If you're ready to learn, I think the Rainbowduino may be a good choice for you.
It's only $19, and all the development tools are free,

And there are a million Arduino people out there who can help you get
it running and programmed.

You'd need one of these, some LEDs and a computer.
(Check with someone to see if you need a programming module also.)
